Arc Extrusion

This steel sculpture is a replica of an antiquated machine designed to capture raw electricity externally. Conductive sheets feed through a high voltage current generating plate and an electric arc is formed, dissipating immediately. (The original fanned shape of the the sheets offers some semantic encouragement) The elusive force escaped every single time, leaving molten metal remnants in its wake. This piece provides some commentary on the skewed nature of confirmation bias that humans project onto science. How many times do we overlook the obvious from clinging to to a one sided view-point that conforms to preexisting ideas?
