My work inhabits many forms and materials, ranges from functional to conceptual and occasionally in between. I build furniture with respect towards the precedent of tradition, while playing with the boundaries of convention. My body of work often addresses the problematic condition of language using art as a vehicle. Attempting to escape the trappings of speaking about language using itself, I use art to discuss language outside its confines.
Working by day as a carpenter for a local remodeling company I often salvage scrap material or found objects on the job site and revive them as a sculptural component. I love harnessing the potential of material that would ordinarily not have an artistic application. My paintings are inspired by surrealism, the vast expanse of the universe and science fiction book covers. I am available for commissions and custom work.
