Eyedentity
Ego is a fragile thing, we build our identity throughout life and try to reinforce our position with some form of validation either internal or external.
This piece represents the individual as a towering machine, the spiraled swarf the mechanical equivalent of genetic coding found in DNA, engrained and unchangeable. The pointed tip of the spire on top reflects the unknowable self, so fine a point unrecognizable even to those who possess it.
This shape is echoed in the bottom of the piece, representing the precarious nature of the self balanced on a tenuous foundation.
