Coexisting Elements

Underwater volcanoes seem like a beautiful natural contradiction. I attempted to capture the terrain of a vast seascape, using the two extremes of heat and cold represented through the color palette.

This acrylic painting utilizes a skim coat texture of drywall joint compound to create a textured, pitted surface for paint application.
